Introduction: Before I start, I present to you a brief note about the terminology used in provincial police forces in the UK. At the bottom of the pile are the workers like me. We are Constables, although in reality every officer no matter the rank holds the 'Office of Constable'. Above us is the Sarge and above that is the Inspector who is always called the 'boss'. In London which is like a different country they have strange things called 'Guv' or 'Skipper', but no-one outside the Met really knows what these are.
